Joshua 4:23-24
Yes, God, your God, dried up the Jordan’s waters for you until you had crossed, just as God, your God, did at the Red Sea, which had dried up before us until we had crossed. This was so that everybody on earth would recognize how strong God’s rescuing hand is and so that you would hold God in solemn reverence always.
the practice of remembrance is crucial to appreciating God’s hand in your life. Remember the lows and the highs and everything in between. The nation of Israel was asked to physically mark a spot in act of remembrance. This was so that they would see Gods hand and always cling to that reassurance as they prepared to go into battle. This is a great practice for us too. Reflect on how the Lord has intervened in your life and find ways to remember those points when you are in “battles” of your own.
