INSPIRATION: 1 Samuel 16:7: But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
In this time of the year where resolutions are on the mind and media influences constantly imply we need to make ourselves “better” – those changes tend to drift towards what is going on outwardly. The media and social media do a brilliant job of making us not feel good enough. It is important to also try and remember that God sees our heart and even if our inner tyrants get the best of us on some days where we feel we are not the right this or the right that, rejoice and take comfort in being fully understood and loved and saturated in grace by God. As the devotional from JESUS CALLING says: REJOICE IN THE RELIEF OF BEING FULLY UNDERSTOOD and NOTHING THAT YOU DO OR DON’T DO CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM MY PRESENCE.
