Yes it is a fun game that we have all played…but it is also something apparently real but based on pretense. This comes up a lot in our social media world…we all may present a most amazing life to the world, and spends a lot of time creating that world, that narrative and that pretense.  But it can be a misleading. God knows who we are…HE doesn’t have to check FB or Instagram for updates on status.  He loves us no matter what…bad hair day, skin breaks out, stictches on the chin, thicker in the middle, etc.  We are reminded in   1 Samuel 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Not my quote but I love this:

“If you’re your authentic self, you have no competition.” Anonymous
